In the first week he sold 2.88 million copies. on new years eve Tha Carter was named the top selling album of 2008. it recieved positive reviews form many different music critics. Ms. Officer reached the top 20 in the first four weeks. In 2008 Tha Carter III was nominated for Grammy Award for Album of the year, and won Best Rap Album of the year.
